In today's drawing lesson, we will learn how to draw a duck with a pencil step by step for beginners. We draw a domestic white duck.
Step 1. Draw the duck's head.
Let's start with the head. Draw a circle to make drawing easier, and the curve shows the head's middle. Then, draw the eye in the middle, closer to the top. Then, we need to draw the beak. The length of the beak is slightly more than the diagonal of the circle, located at 45 degrees. Once finished, erase the circle.
Step 2. Outline the body of the duck.
Now, we need to sketch out the neck and body of the duck. To make it more correct, we sketch with straight lines.
Step 3. Draw the duck's body and neck.
Next, we draw smooth lines of the neck and body along the intended trajectories. Where there are sharp corners, we bevel them and get a beautiful silhouette. Next, sketch out the location of the duck's legs.
Step 4. Draw the duck's feathers and paws.
For convenience, I drew only one paw. We draw a small tail, and with small curves, we show the wing. We also start to add texture to show the feathers.
Step 5. Finalizing the duck drawing.
Draw the second paw. We also imitate feathers all over the body. We make the bottom and middle of the neck a little darker because of the shadow. We apply shadows on the beak and a little on the head. The duck drawing is ready.
