Step 1. Outline the body and the head of our bird.
Start the tomtit drawing by outlining the bird's body and head with a few lines and a circle.
Step 2. Draw the bird's head and beak.
Using the outline from the previous step, start finessing the shapes. First, draw the round shape of the bird's head. Then, draw the bird's beak and eye.
Step 3. Draw the body of the bird.
Continue to draw over the original outline. This time, we extend the necklines to draw the body of our tomtit.
Step 4. Draw the tomtit's wing. Outline the upper parts of its legs and the branch.
Once you are happy with our bird's body shape, start drawing the tomtit's wing. Then, draw the branch it sits on. Also, outline the upper parts of its legs.
Step 5. Draw the bird's tail and feet.
In this step, we draw the shape of our tomtit's tail. Then, draw its feet. As you can see, we need to draw a distinct shape of the feed curving around the branch.
Step 6. Draw the feathers on the bird's wing and tail.
Once you draw the shape of the tomtit's feet, you need to separate its fingers with three fingers upfront and one curving behind the branch. Next, draw the feather pattern on the bird's wing and tail. Lastly, draw the lines on the tomtit's chest and head that will separate the white and black parts of its feathers coloring.
Step 7. Color the bird's head and chest.
Using the line from the previous step, we now need to hatch the bird's head and chest to show the black part of its feather coloring that is unique to tomtit birds.
Step 8. Continue hatching the rest of the bird's body and the branch.
In the last step, hatch the rest of the bird's body, its wing, tail, and paws. Don't forget to hatch its beak if you haven't done so yet. Lastly, hatch the branch. The drawing is complete.
