In today's drawing tutorial, we will look at how to draw the head of a bald eagle with a pencil in stages. Bald eagle is a symbol of the United States and it is depicted on the coat of arms, but in general it lives in North America.
Step 1. Draw the eagle head outline.
Draw the outline of the head, the beak of the eagle. Try to convey the exact proportions of the head and beak, do not press on the pencil, just draw lines on top of each other to give shape, this is absolutely normal.
Step 2. Draw the beak and the eye of the eagle.
Now, let's move on to drawing the eye, draw barely visible lines indicating the area where the eye is located.
Step 3. Draw an eagle eye in more detail.
Now draw an eye and an eyebrow, a shadow under an eyebrow. The look of an eagle is heavy and strict, you must accurately convey it. Take your time, and you can also practice on a separate sheet in drawing such a look.
Step 4. Continue drawing the eagle's eye.
Draw the eye, pupil and highlight, pay attention to the location of the highlight and the shape of the pupil, as well as the shadow under the eyebrow. Draw the contour of the head and beak with more lines.
Step 5. Start hatching the eagle's head and wing.
Draw the outline of the top of the wing. The head of the eagle is white, so we minimally impose shadows, this is the area of the eyes and under the beak. Then we shade the beak (hatching should be barely visible, but visible) and the mouth area. The body color of the bird is dark brown, so we will use a soft 2B or 4B pencil. Drawing a bird requires knowledge of the structure of the wing and feather. Draw the main lines of the feathers on the body.
Step 6. Draw the eagle's feathers.
Feathers have a light shade at the tips. You can draw them with regular hatching, if you draw better, it's very good.
Step 7. Finalizing the drawing of the bald eagle's head.
Draw the rest of the feathers. Make the final touches, apply shadows here and there, or remove unnecessary ones.
